Iolite is a captivating variety of Cordierite, named after the Greek word ios, meaning “violet.” This collection hails from India and showcases the stone’s remarkable pleochroism—a property that causes its color to shift between deep blue, violet, and shimmering gold depending on the angle.
 
Very High Quality Palm stone with rich hues of violet, purples and blues. Almost fully saturated on one side of the stone with deep burgundy, beautiful reflective specks of gold, rainbow, and orange-red sparkles that create the coveted bloodshot Iolite. A truly remarkable specimen.
